Action in the Sound Shore Adult Men’s League starts tonight with five games. This is the league’s 30th season. Teams that compete are from Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and Fairfield counties.

It was a long process last year, but the Yorktown ‘Huskers are ready to do it again. Yorktown coach Dave Marr told me tonight that Yorktown is planning to petition to compete in Class A for the 2010 season. • Report on Monday night’s Section 1 exceptional senior all-star game

Dan Kaiser, the president of the Hudson Valley Chapter of US Lacrosse, furnished me with the names of the Section 1 players named academic all-Americans and scholar-athletes.

University of Virginia-bound attackman Matt White of Ridgefield has been named Connecticut player of the year and five-time Class M state champ Darien has been honored as the state’s team of the year. FCIAC finalists Ridgefield and Darien each had three players selected as USILA all-Americans.

The Section 1 exceptional senior game is set for tonight at Yorktown High School’s Charlie Murphy Field. Here are the rosters for tonight’s Connecticut senior all-star games at Branford High School.

The high school season is over, but there’s plenty going on lax-wise throughout the region, starting today. And we’ll be updating you on all of it.

Before we get set to start Week 2 of our LaxLessons.com all-region team voting and the midfield position, let’s check out the final vote tally for the attack position.

West Islip’s Nicky Galasso and Manhasset’s Connor English both came through with big games in leading their teams to New York state championships. But no one could have quite expected this.

We now have our six state championships in New York and Connecticut.

Before we break down the matchups, here’s a look at the schedule for Saturday’s state championship tripleheader at Brien McMahon in Norwalk: Class S: St. Joseph-Trumbull vs. Weston, 10:30 a.m. Class M: Darien vs. Wilton,  1 p.m. Class L: Simsbury vs. Fairfield Prep, 3:3 p.m.

The CIAC semifinals take place tomorrow at locations across the state, but Brien McMahon’s Jack Casagrande Field will play host to Connecticut’s two marquee matchups – the New Fairfield-Wilton clash in M and the Ridgefield-Prep rematch in L.  Those are previewed below.
