It’s mid-July and the recruiting scene is reaching its peak throughout the nation — and the Hudson Valley/Long Island/Connecticut region. One of the nation’s premier recruiting events, the third annual Maverik Showtime Lacrosse National Recruiting Spotlight, gets under way today right here in our region, at Western Connecticut State University’s Westside Campus in Danbury.

The Federation of International Lacrosse World Games are fast approaching, and the U.S. men’s national team that will be competing in Manchester, England July 15-24 has a big test this week leading up to that. A record 30 nations will be competing.

Here are rosters for the Long Island and Hudson Valley scholastic men’s lacrosse teams that will be competing at the Empire State Games  July 21-25 in the Buffalo/Niagara region. The HV team is made up of 20 players and 10 alternates. Long Island lists all players on its roster.

The fifth annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic is set for Saturday at Towson University’s Johnny Unitas Stadium and several standouts from the Hudson Valley/Long Island/Connecticut region will be involved in the action.
