Welcome to Championship Saturday, gang. It’s been an interesting and eventful season. Now it’s time to award state titles. We’ll have team coverage of today’s New York and Connecticut state title games, but don’t let that from stopping you from weighing in with your thoughts and insights as the games unfold.

Well, gang. We’re down to just one day. Championship Saturday, when six state championships will be decided in New York and Connecticut.

We now have our champions in Section 1 and Section 8 who are preparing for the start of the state playoffs (see the state brackets below). On tap for today: the Suffolk championship tripleheader at Stony Brook and the first round of the Connecticut state tournament.

The FCIAC, SWC and SCC have crowned their champions. Now, Connecticut teams are gearing up for the start of outbracket CIAC tournament games on Tuesday. Section 1 and Section 8 will be holding their championship games on Wednesday. The Section 11 championships will be Thursday.

Max Quinzani scored off a feed from Ned Crotty with 12 seconds remaining in the game to give Duke a 14-13 win over Virginia in the Division I semifinals tonight  in Baltimore before 44,389 fans at M&T Bank Stadium.
