Peter Chabot initially made his mark in the faceoff X, but has now developed into a dynamic two-way midfielder.
That made the Class of 2018 standout at Section 1 (NY) power Rye a target recruit for many Ivy League and Patriot League programs.
Chabot verbally committed to the admissions process at Dartmouth late last week, a decision first reported by Joe Lombardi on LaxLessons.com’s Lacrosse Insider premium coverage section.
The 6-foot, 170-pound, a righty, is also an outstanding student with a 4.0 grade-point average.
Now, here’s a Q&A with Peter on his commitment.
What were the main factors in your decision?
The great academics, wonderful campus and community, inspiring coaching staff, and the love of the college throughout my family.
What other schools were you considering and what schools did you visit?
I was also considering and visiting Ivy and Patriot League Schools
Have you decided what academic major you plan to pursue?
What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?
My speed, strength and faceoff ability. I describe my style of play as aggressive on defense and transition, opportunistic on offense, and tenacious on faceoffs.
What area of your game do you need to work on?
Decision-making on offense.
How did you get introduced to lacrosse and what other sports have you played?
My parents introduced me to lacrosse at the age of 5. I have also ski raced, played soccer, and currently play football along with lacrosse.
What travel team do you play on what showcase events did you participate in?
I play on Prime Time Lacrosse and have participated in many showcases including, FLG Premier and Moonlight Showcase, and most recently, Individual NXT Philly Showcase, and Moonlight Showcase.
Any final thoughts and people you want to thank for helping you reach this point?

I’d also like to thank Greg Gurenlian and Ned Crotty for helping me to enhance my skills. Most importantly, I’d like to thank my family for supporting me throughout the process.
