It was a relatively light Monday on the first day of action in a jam-packed playoff week in the tristate hotspot.
Most noteworthy, defending champion Iona Prep advanced to the CHSAA (NY) Metro AA title game where it will play at Fordham Prep on Friday at 1 p.m.
There was also a noteworthy upset in he Suffolk County (NY) Class B playoffs as No. 7 Eastport-South Manor defeated No. 2 Miller Place 12-7.
Today’s action is highlight by a full slate of playoff games on Long Island in both Nassau and Suffolk and the Section 1 (NY) semifinals, on the higher seeds’ homefields.
