Bethpage enjoyed a bounce-back season in 2014, finishing 13-5 and advancing to the Nassau County (NY) semifinals after a 5-11 showing in 2013.

Will the Golden Eagles fly high once again this spring?

For more, we turn to the team’s defensive captain, close defender Nick Biasi, who will be playing his collegiate lacrosse at St. John’s University, a decision first reported when it was made just over a year ago here at LaxLessons.com.

playerperspectiveNow, here are Nick’s perspectives on the upcoming season.

What have you been doing to get ready for the season?
I train every single day and especially heavy in off season. I concentrate on my agility exercises and weight training which enables me to bring more power to my core and legs.

I also train several days per week with Coach George Powers and Coach Doug Schreiber working hard on one-on-one’s, speed, footwork and stick skills.

I have been doing a lot of running as well to maintain my endurance.

How does your school look & what games are you looking forward to most, and who are some of your scrimmages against?
We have not received any schedule yet for the upcoming season but we usually play against Massapequa (scrimmage) and it is always a great battle.

What do you think the strength of your team will be this year?
The defense will definitely be solid, strong on faceoffs and offense  will be productive.

How do you view the race in your league and who do you think some of the contending teams will be?
I am looking forward to some key matchups this year with Manhasset, Lynbrook, Hicksville and Carey.

I definitely think with hard work and good communication on the field we will make it back to where we were last year to the county semifinals.

It would be even better if I can end my senior year with a championship title.
