Parts of the tristate saw hail, snow showers and freeze warnings the last 24 hours.

Don’t adjust your calendars, folks. It really is April 24 today — just went action is really heating up in the nation’s No. 1 lacrosse hotspot, despite the, at times, frigid elements.

It was a huge day in Connecticut yesterday with  two upsets — Fairfield Ludlowe beating unbeaten Staples and Daniel Hand defeating Fairfield Prep — and a down-to-the-wire thriller as unbeaten Darien extended its win streak to 29 by beating Ridgefield.

Today is “the day” when it comes to regular-season matchups in Nassau.

It will be 11-0 vs. 11-0 as defending New York Class A state champ Massapequa visits Syosset. Game-time is 4:45 p.m.

In addition to the Massapequa-Syosset showdown, there’s another noteworthy story on Long Island.

Stony Brook University-bound senior Ryan Ozsvath of Half Hollow Hills West (NY) is closing in on the school’s all-time goal-scoring record.

Ozsvath has 141 career goals, five shy of breaking the school standard of 145 established by Kevin O’Shea, a 2010 Hills West grad who played collegiately at Army before transferring to Hartford.

On Thursday, Johns Hopkins University-bound Henry Grass of defending New York Class C champ Bronxville became the all-time leading scorer in Section 1.

Grass now has 395 career points on 244 goals and 151 assists.

The previous Section 1 standard was held by 1983 Yorktown grad and former Syracuse University standout Tom Nelson, who had 393 points.

Here are games we’re spotlighting for today:

Massapequa (NY) at Syosset (NY)

South Side (NY) at Bethpage (NY)

West Islip (NY) at Walt Whitman (NY)

Half Hollow Hills West (NY) at Deer Park (NY)

Lenape (NJ) at St. Augustine Prep (NJ)
