Spring started last Friday night while much of the NY/NJ/CT region was in the midst of a winter storm that dropped as much as between 6 and 8 inches of snow in parts of the area.
While the longterm forecast shows we may have seen the last of the snow for a while (fingers crossed), the temperatures will be very much winter-like through the early part of the week.
So much for the tristate “hotspot.”
It will be sunny but daytime highs will top off only in the mid 30s with the wind-chill factor making it feel like between 10 and 15 degrees during the day Monday and 10 and 20 degrees on Tuesday.
Action in the area does pick up each day as the week progresses, but there will be no shortage of teams who will have to brave the frigid elements both Monday and Tuesday.
Here are some of the matchups on tap for Monday:
Nyack (NY) at Byram Hills (NY)
Riverhead (NY) at Sachem East (NY)
Commack (NY) at Shoreham-Wading River (NY)
