The field for Saturday’s Long Island title games will be set after today. Nassau crowned its champions on Tuesday in a tripleheader at Hofstra. Suffolk’s finalists for Saturday’s state-quarterfinal tripleheader at Stony Brook University will be decided Wednesday.

There’s also a full slate of opening-round state playoff games in the rest of New York as well as Connecticut.

Now, here’s Wednesday’s rundown:

Suffolk County (NY) championships

at Stony Brook University

Class A: Ward Melville vs. Smithtown East

Class B: East Islip vs. Eastport-South Manor

Class C: Shoreham-Wading River vs. Islip

New York State Tournament

Matchups include: 

Section 9 vs. Section 1

Class A: Monroe-Woodbury vs. Lakeland/Panas

Class B: Minisink Valley vs. Yorktown

Class C: Highland vs. Pleasantville

Class D: O’Neill vs. Westlake
