Chaminade defeated archrival St. Anthony’s comfortably 12-6 in the teams’ regular-season meeting 12-6.

What would have happened in the scheduled CHSAA Nassau/Suffolk AAA title-game meeting scheduled for Thursday will forever remain a mystery.

That’s because, on Wednesday, St. Anthony’s was sanctioned by CHSAA for self-reported use of ineligible player due to a self-reported administrative violation for the use of an ineligible player.

As a result, Chaminade was awarded the championship. The Flyers end the season 11-4.

In addition to forfeiting the title game, the Friars forfeiting all boys lacrosse contests played during the 2017 season.

The ineligible player has been removed from St. Anthony’s roster.

While that unforeseen turn of events puts a damper on the 2017 tristate season, there are still some big matchup on Thursday’s slate, including NY/NJ playoff contests.

Now, here’s our rundown.
