The Class of 2015 commitment count for Half Hollow Hills West High School (NY)  is now hit six.

The latest verbal came from midfielder Jeremiah Sullivan, who decided on NYIT, a decision first reported by Joe Lombardi on LaxLessons.com’s Lacrosse Insider premium coverage section.

Sullivan joins the following as 2015 Hills West commits: Justin Cerniello, attack, Sacred Heart; Joe Cipoletti, defense, Sacred Heart; Malcolm Flynn, St. John’s, defense/longstick midfield; Mike McCarthy, Siena, midfield and Ryan Ozsvath, Stony Brook, attack.

The 5-foot-8, 170-pound Sullivan, a righty, is a four-year varsity standout who will be a three-year starter next spring. As a sophomore in 2013, he had 11 goals and six assists.

Also an outstanding student, Sullivan sports a grade average of 92.

recruiting_updateNow, here’s a Q&A with Jeremiah on his commitment.

What were the main factors in your decision?
NYIT has a lot to offer both academically and athletically. The school has a lot to offer for my intended major. I also have the opportunity to play for a National Championship caliber team. What other schools were you considering and what schools did you visit? Molloy, Pace and Albright College.
What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?

I would describe my style of play as a hard and fast dodger down either side of the box.
How did you get introduced to lacrosse and what other sports have you played?
In fourth grade i decided to play because one of my best friends played, so i decided to try it out.

What travel team do you play on what showcase events did you participate in?
I play for Team 91 2015 Orange and I attended Nat 175 at RIT and on Long Island.

Any final thoughts?
I would like to first thank my parents for doing everything they possibly could to help me get recruited.

I would also like to thank my 91 coaches George Breres and Brendan Chamberlain for helping me in the process these past few years, and my high school coach Nils Haugen. I would also like to thank (NYIT Head) Coach (Bill) Dunn at NYIT for giving me this great opportunity.
