We begin this week with news about two teams coming together in a show of support for U.S. troops.

The first-ever meeting between Section 1 (NY) power Rye and defending CHSAA (NY) AA champion Fordham Prep, set for 5:30 p.m. at FP, will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

An Essex County championship will be crowned in New Jersey as Seton Hall Prep (12-3) takes on West Essex (8-6) in a 4 p.m. game at Verona. The game had been scheduled for this past Saturday, but was postponed by lightning.

Summit (15-1) faces Westfield (6-7) for the Union County (NJ) title at Arthur L. Johnson High School. The game will follow the girls title game, which starts at 6 p.m.

It’s the final day of the regular season in Section 1 (NY). Pairings and seedings for the Section 1 Tournament will be determined Tuesday. Among today’s regular-season finales, North Rockland visits Suffern, White Plains hosts Mamaroneck, Pelham plays at Byram Hills and New Rochelle hosts Eastchester.

Nassau County (NY) is also wrapping up its regular season in classes A and C while the opening round gets under way today in Class B.

The winners of these Monday first-round matchups meet Thursday and Friday in the quarterfinals at Adelphia University:

* B1-5 Wantagh at B2-4 Hewlett winner vs. B2-8 Floral Park at B1-1 Garden City winner

* B2-6 Seaford at B1-3 Carey winner vs. B1-7 Division-Levittown B2-3 Manhasset winner

* B1-8 Jericho at B2-1 Lynbrook winner vs. B2-5 North Shore at B1-2 Long Beach winner

* B2-3 Bethpage at B1-6 Plainedge winner vs. B2-7 Roslyn at B1-2 South winner

Defending Suffolk County (NY) Class B champion Miller Place (10-4) visits Huntington (11-2) and Rocky Point (13-1) hosts Comsewogue (8-6).

There’s another matchup of two of the top Class B programs in Suffolk as Sayville (10-4) plays at Harborfields  (9-5).

There’s a big contest in Connecticut’s SCC as Amity (9-2) hosts Fairfield Prep (7-4).

In a big interstate prep showdown, Brunswick (CT) visits Trinity-Pawling (NY).
