It was NY vs. MD in three varsity games — all played at different sites — on Thursday.
Saturday, it will be LI vs. CT in three games played at one site — Darien High School in Connecticut.
The Battle of the Sound Tournament begins at 11 a.m. with a matchup between two title-contending girls programs in Farmingdale and Darien.
That game will be followed by a boys doubleheader with Manhasset vs. the host Blue Wave at 1:30 p.m. and two-time New York state champion Garden City vs. Ridgefield at 4 p.m.
Two of the top programs in New Jersey meet as Mountain Lakes hosts Delbarton at 11 a.m.
On Long Island, Suffolk power Smithtown East, which started this week with six straight wins (including its first victory over Ward Melville since 2009), visits 2013 Nassau County finalist Port Washington at 11 a.m.
Nassau County rivals Hicksville and Bethpage meet under the lights at 7 p.m. in Bethpage. Also at 7 p.m., it’s defending Section 11 Class B champ Miller Place at Hauppauge.
Upstate in New York, two of New York’s top programs collide when Jamesville-DeWitt hosts West Genesee.
John Jay (NY), fresh off a big win at Manhasset, hosts defending CT Class M state champ WIlton as the teams continue their ruvalry in a 7 p.m. affair.
In Connecticut, prep powers Choate and Avon Old Farms meet at Avon.
