This coming weekend, it will be time to “Spring Ahead” for the start of Daylight Saving Time on Sunday, March 9 at 2 a.m.

There is another sure sign of sign today as high school lacrosse is now back.

The major snowstorm expected to hit the nation’s No. 1 hotspot for lacrosse, the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut tristate region, stayed south, and Day 1 of varsity practice for teams on Long Island and in the CHSAA is a go today.

“Cannot focus in class,” Tweeted University of North Carolina-bound attackman Pat McCormick of Hicksville High School in Nassau County on Monday morning. “3 o’clock needs to hurry up.”

But, players whose practices/tryouts are scheduled for outdoors are bracing to brave the bone-chilling temperatures.

“Was gonna pull out the sworts for the first day, but 23 degrees at 3 o’clock makes me want to cry,” Tweeted Georgetown-bound midfielder Craig Berge of defending Section 8 Class A champ Massapequa, referring to sweat pants that are cut at the knee.

If you’re a player still waiting for the start of practice where you are,  you can get caught up with everything you need to know by checking of archive of recent preseason stories:
