We’re still a couple of months away from the start of the 2014 season, but it’s never too early to look ahead.

YMTCSo let’s do just that.

At this point, who do you think should be the top-ranked varsity boys team heading into the season in the nation’s No. 1 hotbed for lacrosse, the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut tristate region?

Here are five candidates:

  • Two-time N.Y. Class B state champion Garden City
  •  N.Y. Class A state champion and consensus nationally ranked No. 1 Ward Melville
  •  CHSAA AAA champion Chaminade (NY)
  •  Delbarton (NJ)
  •  New Jersey Tournament of Champions winner Ridge

What do you think?

Be sure to weigh in with your opinion and vote in our latest poll.

  1. informed lacrosse parent says:

greenwich is slotted to be nasty. They are once again returning nearly all of their starters

  2. LI Guy says:

It will be more wide open than people think. GC has plugged in new seniors to replace graduates the last few years, but can they keep it up. Losing Bruckner, Mazzone and Nemirov is huge for WM.

  3. Blue White says:

Who is stepping up to replace Savio?

If the Cardinals weren’t snake bitten with injuries last year they’d have given Prep a nice run in L.

  4. jsmaimone says:

Bergen catholic should rival Delby next year for the best in nj

  5. slacrosse says:

Whoever the strongest team on LI is of course.
