It’s title time in Section 11 (NY) classes A and B with a title-game doubleheader set for Stony Brook University.

The championship of the most talent-laden and deepest conference in the nation, Suffolk Class A, will be held at 7:30 p.m. as Smithtown East (15-3), the No. 3 seed, takes on title-game mainstay West Islip (13-6), the fifth seed. Smithtown East will be making its first appearance in the Section 11 final. The winner faces Nassau champ Massapequa in Saturday’s Long Island Championship game.

The Class B final features No. 1 Rocky Point (17-1) against second-seeded Miller Place (13-5), the defending champion at 5 p.m. The winner plays Nassau winner Lynbrook in Saturday’s LIC final.

State tournament action starts outside LoLL2014HSGAMEDAYng Island in New York. There will be a first-round Section 9 vs. Section 1 tripleheader at Lakeland High School in Shrub Oak with the following matchups: Class A – Warwick (Section 9) vs. Lakeland/Panas (Section 1), 3:30 p.m.; Class B – Cornwall (Section 9) vs. Yorktown (Section 1); and Class C – Rondout (Section 9) vs. Bronxville (Section 1), 8 p.m.

In New Jersey, Non-Public championships will be decided as unbeaten Bergen Catholic faces Delbarton at 7:30 p.m. at Livingston in A and Morristown-Beard faces Immaculata at Somerville, also at 7:30 p.m in B.

The Group championship will be decided with these games:

* Group 1: Mountain Lakes vs. Johnson at 5 p.m. in Livingston.

* Group 2: Summit vs. Somerville at 5 p.m. in Ridge.

* Group 3: Ridgewood vs. Moorestown at 7:30 p.m. in Ridge.

* Group 4: Westfield vs. Southern at 5 p.m. in Somerville.

Southern Connecticut Conference semifinal games will be played at Surf Club in Madison. The matchups are: No. 1 Fairfield Prep (11-5) vs. No. 4 Amity Regional (13-3), 5 p.m. and No. 2 Guilford (9-6) vs. No. 3 North Haven (13-3), 7 p.m.

Also in CT, South West Conference semifinal action is also on tap for today with Joel Barlow playing Brookfield and Newtown facing New Milford in Division I action at New Fairfield and Bunnell facing Stratford and Notre Dame-Fairfield taking on Pomeraug in games at Pomperaug.
