John Jay’s Mike Daniello, one of the top junior recruits in the nation, has done some soul-searching after verbally committing to attend North Carolina on Sept. 28 and has decided to change his commitment and attend Johns Hopkins.

Manhasset players celebrate after beating Garden City in the annual Woodstick Classic this past season. Some have tradition — and lots of it. Like Garden City vs. Manhasset. Others have become heated of late. Like Darien vs. Ridgefield. There are lots of great rivalries throughout the Hudson Valley, Long Island and Connecticut. Perhaps more than […]

Bronxville attackman/midfielder Joe Wood committed last night to Division III power Washington and Lee. Joe Wood of Bronxville is a versatile player who can play both attack and midfield. And at this time next year, he will be playing for the Washington and Lee Generals.

As far as fall ball goes, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better venue than West Point, where the fall foliage and the scenic images of the Hudson provided a perfect backdrop for a busy day of action today involving Stony Brook, Marist and the host Black Knights.

It was decision day for Mike Daniello. I just got off the phone with the John Jay attackman moments after he contacted the final list of schools he was considering. The first call he made was to North Carolina. Daniello, the No. 9-ranked junior in the nation by Inside Lacrosse, has given a verbal commitment […]

The new geographically aligned leagues in Section 1 have created some interesting scenarios for next season. Hen Hud’s Bobby Sincero also drew recruiting interest from Colgate, Brown, Manhattan, Middlebury, Colby, Nazareth, Washington College, Clark and Lynchburg. I think I know a trend when I see one, folks. The commitment of Hen Hud senior goaltender Bobby Sincero to attend Army marks the third Section 1 player from the Class of 2010 that […]

Stephen Burke spent most of last season sidelined with an injury. So the Yorktown senior had to make up for lost time over the summer in order to land a spot with a collegiate program. Burke managed to do just that. He has given a verbal commitment to join Division II national champion C.W. Post.

Army has landed another top senior from the Hudson Valley in John Jay’s Will O’Donnell.

Army head coach Joe Alberici, who’s an assistant on the U.S. National team for 2010, just passed along some info to me that I thought you folks would be very interested in. The 40-member U.S. National training team will be holding a clinic with Army players at West Point on Saturday, Sept. 26.
