There was quite a long list of renowned collegiate programs that would have been very pleased to have gotten a verbal commitment from either Jimmy Morris (No. 20, picture at top) and Brendan Morris (pictured below). But Gettysburg has to be especially happy right now. That’s because both of the twin brothers have committed to […]

Seth Tierney plans on hanging around Hofstra for a while. The former associate head coach at Hopkins signed a contract extension to remain as head coach of the Pride through 2014. Tierney took over as Hofstra coach in August 2006 after former Pride coach John Danowski left to take over the Duke program. One of […]

Yorktown’s moving down. (From Class A.) Rye’s moving up. (From Class C.) John Jay and Somers are still there. The result: A class that is as stacked as Section 1 has ever seen. Who do you think is the team to beat in Class B?

Manhasset regularly churns out as many college-bound players as any program in the country. One of the reasons for this is not only the Indians’ proud tradition of success, but its tradition of family ties. It’s always interesting to get Inside Lacrosse’s take on who the top high school and incoming collegiate players in the country are. And that’s precisely what we got this week. As you would expect, the Hudson Valley/Long Island/Connecticut region, the nation’s No. 1 hotbed for lax, was well represented.

A set play out of a basic 2-2-2 that has screens/pops and allows for your playmakers to attack the unbalanced backside.

Back in late June, we told you about an NCAA proposal that could mean the end of early verbal commitments. The proposal, which would ban Division I recruits from verbally committing to a college prior to July 1 before their senior year, picked up support earlier this year after a 13-year-old middle-school student verbally committed […]

Former West Islip star Nicky Galasso graces the cover of the recruiting issue of Inside Lacrosse, which will be out on the stands and in mailboxes this week. It will include national rankings of rising seniors and juniors in high school. It also ranks the top incoming college freshmen. To no one’s surprise, Galasso is […]

It pays to be a good student — and a good student of the game. Rye rising senior Matt McReddie parlayed both those attributes into an opportunity to play lacrosse at the next level. The 6-foot, 188-pound midfielder will be playing at Bates College in Maine after considering several other prestigious programs. McReddie, a two-sport […]

As an attackman at Yorktown High School, Jake Thorp is part of one of the most established varsity lacrosse programs in the nation. At the next level, Thorp will get to experience an interesting change. He will be helping the College of Saint Rose in Albany build its program from the very start.
