But who’s No. 2? There are plenty of contenders right now. Two of them are playing today.

The West Islip Lions would have been just perfect last season had it not been for an 8-7 regular-season loss to Ward Melville. Today, the two teams meet for the first time a year to the day since that May 5, 2009 meeting. It’s one of several Suffolk showdowns on tap for today.
