One of the top goaltenders to play high school lacrosse in the Hudson Valley the last decade has died.

Michael Mackay, who lived and worked on Long Island, died on Thursday, Nov. 9 after a long battle with addiction. He was 27.

Mackay, who starred at Lakeland/Panas and attended the University of Delaware, also competed in USSA alpine ski races.
