Now in its third year, House of Sports Club Lacrosse has become one of the region’s largest powerhouse programs.  It has been able to carve out a unique niche for itself by offering what Executive Director Ned Crotty describes as the D-I EXPERIENCE at its location in Ardsley, N.Y., in the heart of Westchester County.

“The D-I EXPERIENCE is our commitment to provide our players with the same experience and benefits that collegiate athletes receive in top-tier D-I lacrosse programs,” said Crotty.

The foundation of the D-I EXPERIENCE is that the House of Sports program is one of the only full year programs in the area.  Its teams practice weekly for 1.5 hours on the House of Sports 80 yard indoor turf field.  Each player also receives a weekly, one hour position specific, skill development class in the House of Sports Lacrosse Academy.  Finally, each player works out in the Athletic Republic Performance Center for two hours per week where they receive lacrosse specific speed, strength and agility training.

“Over the course of the year, each of our players will spend over 200 hours working on their on-field lacrosse skills and general athleticism.  This type of time commitment should dramatically improve their ability to perform on the field” said Dan Forsyth, the Director of Teams and former Assistant Head Coach at C.W. Post.

New for this year is the INTENT program which has been designed to ensure that House of Sports players are prepared for the college recruitment process.  “Last year, 6 of our players received D1 scholarships” said Jackie Pierce, the Executive Director of Girls Lacrosse.  “We believe that the INTENT program will help us grow this number even larger” she said.

This upcoming year, the House of Sports will field one boys and girls elite team at each age group. In addition to full year team members, a limited number of winter and summer only players will also be accepted.  Tryouts will be held at the House of Sports from Sept. 6-12. Financial aid is available based on ability and financial need.
