There are now so many showcase tournaments and events each summer, that it has become a challenge to try to figure out which events are the best.

There are a lot of factors to consider, including the quality of the competition, which event will deliver the best recruiting exposure, and which event is truly worth the trip.

PrintHaving surveyed the market well, one that clearly stands out is appropriately named the Best of the Best. The National 175 Best of the Best, that is.

It will be held Friday, July 4 through Sunday, July 6 at Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale on Long Island and has the trifecta of great competition, great venue and a strong turnout of collegiate coaches. This year, for the first time, it will include both team and individual showcases.

The Best of the Best Team Showcase, which launched last year, was an instant success and is already filled for 2014. Not only is it filled, but the field includes many of the top teams from throughout the nation. Based on the impressive array of teams that will be attending, it’s safe to say the turnout of college coaches will be quite impressive.

The Best of the Best includes an Individual Showcase set for Friday, July 4, a new, one-day event that will be held prior to the team showcase. It is designed for student-athletes who are seeking to increase their exposure. The showcase is committed to keeping the number of players to 175 for each of the three graduating years. Here is the link to apply.

In addition, this year’s event also supports the Navy Seal Foundation, a fitting tie-in for the July 4th holiday. With today’s recruiting window so short, and the competition for roster spots so  high, it  is  no  surprise that  so many are eager to now play on July 4th weekend.
