Brendan Quinn is an outstanding athlete.
He’s also a skilled lacrosse player.
The combination made the attackman at Chaminade High School (N.Y.) a target recruit of several Division I programs.
Quinn, who also plays football and basketball for the Flyers, has committed to play lacrosse at the next level at Fairfield University, a verbal reported on Sept. 14 by Joe Lombardi on LaxLessons.com’s Lacrosse Insider special coverage section.
The 5-foot-11, 145-pound righty Quinn is a feeder/finisher who is effective at creating scoring chances.
Now, here’s a Q&A with Brendan on his commitment.
What were the main factors in your decision?
The location, great academics, and it fits my style of play.
What other schools were you considering and what schools did you visit?
Villanova, Loyola, BU, Colgate,and Richmond.
What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?
My ability to dodge and feed are some things that I use to my advantage when playing. I would describe it as being an initiator.
How did you get introduced to lacrosse and what other sports have you played?
I also play football and basketball for Chaminade and plan on continuing that all four years. I was introduced by a friend of mine who asked me to play for his PAL team.
What travel team do you play on what showcase events did you participate in?
Long Island Express Orange, participated in Jake Reed’s Nike Blue Chip, Under Armor Shootout and NSCLA.
Any final thoughts?
I would like to thank my parents for bringing me all over to play in tournaments as well as all of my coaches: Mike Scwalje, Robert Pomponio and Jack Moran who have helped me along the way in recruiting
