The wind-chill factor will be a, well, non-factor.

But one thing will remain the same.

While the temperatures are expected to hover at or above the 70-degree mark on this first day of spring, Garden City will be opening the season in a familiar way.

Against the Syosset Braves.

It’s been that way the last five years.

While Garden City, the two-time Class B New York state finalists, is looking to go 5-0 during that stretch, it may not be easy.

Syosset, after all, was seeded No. 1 by coaches in the preseason Nassau County rankings.

And there will be no shortage of future collegiate players. Just check our “Recruiting rundown” for a breakdown of each’s team’s collegiate recruits by class.

All told, there will be 13 varsity boys games in Nassau today.

Over in Suffolk, 15 games are on the slate. Among them, defending Class C state finalist Bayport-Blue Point plays its season opener in a 4:30 p.m. game at Sachem East.

If you’re waiting for some action in Hudson Valley, Connecticut and New Jersey, you won’t have to wait long. There are some intriguing scrimmages this week, starting tomorrow.

Stay tuned.
