It was quite a week of lacrosse up in Lake Placid, N.Y., site of the 21st annual Lake Placid Summit Lacrosse Classic.

And action in the most followed division, Masters, ended just as it did last year with Rusty Red outlasting a “Dream Team” of former Syracuse stars known as the Burnt Orange 14-13 in overtime in the title game.

Last year, Burnt Orange, which featured Roy Colsey, Ric Beardsley, Rob Kavovit, the Powell brothers and Paul Carcaterra, fell to Rusty Red 12-10 in the final.

In the teams’ latest title-game showdown, Casey Powell scored with 10 seconds remaining in regulation for Burnt Orange to force overtime.

Rusty Red prevailed in OT on Lindsay Dixon’s sixth goal of the game.

Casey and Ryan Powell each had three goals and three assists for the Orange. Colsey also had three goals.

A couple of other noteworthy hudson valley guys on the Rusty Red team. John Hess on attack and Brian Kuczma on defense. Great weekend of lax.
