Former John Jay star Chris Daniello scored three goals today as top-ranked and two-time defending national champion Syracuse beat Maryland 10-7 at the Carrier Dome in the Orange’s final scrimmage of the preseason.

Syracuse opens the season on Friday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. against Denver in the debut of new Denver coach and Princeton legend Bill Tierney.

Two of Daniello’s goals came in the second half.

Former Somers two-time all-American JoJo Marasco, a freshman midfielder for the Orange, had two assists.

Ryder Bohlander, a two-time all-American for John Jay who is now a defenseman for Maryland, had three groundballs.

    With some of the near upsets we’ve already seen, case in point Bucknell-Duke, I wouldn’t be surprised if Tierney and Denver give Cuse a scare.
