• In Long Island, West Islip visits Massapequa in an intriguing showdown. Massapequa is 3-1, with its lone loss against a Chaminade team that just beat St. Anthony’s. West Islip, the No. 1 team in the LaxLessons.com Top 25 regional rankings, started the season by beating Whitman 18-3.

• Hicksville (4-1, with the loss against Cold Spring Harbor) visits Plainedge (2-0).

In Section 1:

• Ossining visits Pleasantville

• Nyack plays at Briarcliff

• Nanuet hosts North Salem

With the rain and wind picking up, it looks as though most action scheduled for today will be postponed. We have already received word of several Section 1 postponements.

    Nice win today for WI over Pequa as you noted. If WI is this good now I can’t even imagine what they’ll look like come late May/June.
