Being agile on the ground is impressive. Having body control and the ability to coordinate an athletic sequence that may include multiple actions is at completely different level. Working on both one and two leg jumping and landing techniques is important to transfer the power gained from your strength training program into the on-field performance. These advanced lower body explosion exercises can help you build confidence through efficient movement. Pay attention to how you land as well as your upper body mechanics. Try each of these exercises with a six inch box and six inch hurdle to start. As you improve, raise the box by two inches. When you can land softly and quietly on a 20 inch box, increase the hurdle from a six inch to a 12 inch. Remember that quality is better than quantity. Focus on having perfect technique on your take-offs and landings on each rep.
