Sometimes, an athlete’s name is a perfect fit.

Meet Will Rock.

One of the most highly regarded 2017 long-stick players, the McLean, Va., native is an aggressive, strong and rangy player with good stick skills, speed. Couple that with his ideal size (6-foot-3, 185 pounds), and, well, the University of Virginia will be getting a “Rock” on defense.

The Gonzaga College High School freshman’s commitment to the Cavaliers was first reported yesterday by Joe Lombardi on’s Lacrosse Insider premium coverage section.

A righty, Rock, who plays travel lacrosse for Madlax, is also a standout in football and basketball.

recruiting_updateNow, here’s a Q&A with Will on his commitment.
