Bill Kersten, the former girls varsity coach at New Milford High School (Conn.), has been named the new varsity boys coach at nearby Danbury High School.

Kerstein replaces longtime coach Paul Purdy.

The announcement came in a press release from Danbury AD Chip Salvestrini.
