With all the marquee matchups in store, it promises to be an interesting week.

And it all starts today.

While it’s generally a quite day, there are some games of note.

In Connecticut, New Canaan visits Norwalk in a 7:30 p.m. contest at Testa Field. Also of note, New Fairfield plays at Newtown at 7 p.m. at Blue and Gold Stadium.

Of note on Long Island, New York State Class A champion Farmingdale hosts Mountain View High School of California in a 7 p.m. game at Allen Park.

Finally, a quick programming note.

Be sure to catch “Lacrosse Monday” on MSG Varsity’s “High School SportsDesk” show premiering at 7 p.m. on iO Channel 14. The half-hour show will look back at the big games and best performances from this past week and preview the biggest games this coming week. Joe will be joining Shawna Ryan on the Hudson Valley/Connecticut edition, Keith Irizarry on the Long Island edition and Steve Gelbs on the New York City edition.

Viewers in Hudson Valley/Connecticut can watch the premiere broadcast of the Wilton-Greenwich game at 7:30 p.m. on MSG Varsity.

      These games are Saturday:

      * Conestoga (Pa.) vs. Garden City, 11 a.m., at Checking for Cancer Tournament at Haverford.

      * Torrey Pines (Calif.) at Darien, noon, Darien’s DHS Stadium.

      On Friday:

      * La Costa Canyon (Calif.) at St. Anthony’s, 11 a.m.

    • Lax Novice says:

You’ll live to be 100 and never see Conestoga play on Long Island. They have the nerve to call this a neutral field game too.

Look for the refs to let the boys play, few EMOs. ‘Stoga 9 – GC 6.
