The Fall Early Signing Week is an eight-day window for seniors bound for most Division I and Division II conferences to sign National Letters of Intent.

Signing Week ended last week, but senior commitments continue to come in for Division III-bound players.

One of the first ones we’ll be taking an up close look at belongs to Luke Wooters.

The quick and elusive attackman from Iona Prep decided on Nazareth.

Here’s a Q&A with Luke on his commitment:

What were the main factors in your decision?
The outstanding academic opportunities that it provides for me. The campus is a perfect fit for the type of school that I want to attend. Lastly, the lacrosse program is outstanding. After going on my visit and seeing the school, Coach (Rob) Randall sold me on the fact that Nazareth is a top D-III program that has a reputation for hard work and excellence.

What other schools were you considering and what schools did you visit?
SUNY Cortland, St. Michael’s, Saint Leo and Assumption. The schools that I visited were Cortland, St. Leo’s and Assumption.

What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?
My speed, lacrosse IQ, ability to dodge from the midfield and also attack and my craftiness on the field. The style of play that I use on the field is a very fast one.

What areas of your game do you think you need to improve on?
My feeding ability, my left handed shot, adjust to the speed of the college game, and also to get into the weight room and gain some size.

When did you first realize you had the potential to play at the college level?
The summer going into my junior year. At that point, I started to receive some interest from schools because of the way that I was playing at camps as well as how I did at the summer tournaments that I played in.

What were some of the big summer showcase events you’ve competed in the last couple of years and how did you do at them?
Nike Blue Chip and Fairfield Elite 100. The big tournaments that I have played in are the Hofstra Blue and Gold, MVP tournament at Ryder and the Tri-State tournament at Princeton.
