Punxsutawney Phil must be a lacrosse fan.

The renowned groundhog (some say he’s actually a woodchuck, but we digress) did not see his shadow this morning, meaning we will have an early spring. (For a video of Phil’s announcement, click here.)

Granted, with the unrelenting snow, ice and cold temperatures we’ve been experiencing, Phil’s prediction may be met with some skepticism.

But not if you’re eager for the lax season to start.

The first college scrimmages of this season were held this past weekend, with more on the way for this weekend.
