Keough

If you didn’t check the comments portion our recruiting update page yet today, you’ve missed some big news.

Donald Keough, the standout defenseman from Rye, has orally committed to Notre Dame.

Keough, who has been leaning toward ND for months, has received his acceptance and will be good to go after a PG year at Westminster.

Two of his most memorable performances the last two years pretty much established him as a major Division I defenseman.

Last season, he shut down John Jay’s Chris Bocklet, now going into his sophomore year at Virginia, as Rye beat the Indians 9-8 in double overtime to end John Jay’s 47-game win streak against Section 1 opponents.

This season, he held another two-time all-American, Somers’ JoJo Marasco, scoreless until one second left in regulation when Marasco scored to forced overtime against the Garnets. Rye defeated Somers 9-8.
