Sachem North has been making a lot of noise but on and off the field of late. Last year, the Flaming Arrows started the season by upsetting the nation’s top-ranked team, West Islip. Yesterday, Sachem North’s number of Division I-bound seniors swelled to four with the commitment of defenseman Alex Harris to attend Stony Brook.

As far as fall ball goes, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better venue than West Point, where the fall foliage and the scenic images of the Hudson provided a perfect backdrop for a busy day of action today involving Stony Brook, Marist and the host Black Knights.

Defenseman George Benitez of Darien will be playing his college lacrosse at Division I Stony Brook. George Benitez is one of four rising seniors for five-time state champion Darien that have committed to college programs. The defenseman is headed to Stony Brook University.
