We’ve spent quite a bit of time reporting on the progression of schedules at both the collegiate and high school level the last few weeks.

In college, most of the top programs in Division I have released their completed 2011 schedules. You can access most of them by clicking here. We also have separate links for Johns Hopkins and Syracuse.

As for the high school level, many league schedules have been assigned, but individual schools, as always, are free to change dates as they see fit.

For example, right now – Arlington is scheduled to play John Jay on April 2, but as I’ve reported, that is the likely date of the Yorktown-John Jay game at John Jay, which, as of now, has been assigned for April 28.

Remember, folks, the schedules continue to be works in progress. Nothing, except the college schedules reported, is completely final as yet, and all high school schedules right now are not only tentative and incomplete, but in nearly all cases, partial schedules.

With that in mind, here’s a link to our most recent schedule update, with links to the scheduling databases of several sections in the region.

George Baldassare, director of high school lacrosse for LaxPower.com, just passed along links to LaxPower’s high school schedule pages. So be sure to check them out.

Here are those links:

* Section 1 (Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and parts of Dutchess counties)

* Section 8 (Nassau County)

* Section 9 (Orange, Ulster, Sullivan and parts of Dutchess counties)

* Section 11 (Suffolk County)

* Connecticut (Public/Parochial – Class alignments are tentative until Feb. 1)

* New Jersey (Public/Parochial)

Now this is yet another invaluable resource for all of us. Thanks to you and George for making these available.

  2. Joe Lombardi says:

Thanks, Lax Novice. For real serious fans who not only follow scores, but who attend a lot of different games, I recommend bookmarking these links, as well as the schedule links for the CIAC and NYSPHSSA sections in New York. It’s always a good idea to double-check the site/time before you head out.

Though we are a long way away from the 2011 schedules being complete, even finalized schedules change often, especially starting times (in addition to the actual dates).

  3. Joe Lombardi says:

John Jay vs. Manhasset has been tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 16 at John Jay.

  4. Lax Novice says:

    There you go! Thanks, Joe.

  5. SirLaxalot says:

  7. mr. jones says:

I was at the Kennedy Catholic practice last night and the team looks very much improved from last year. I saw the Sav’s have 3 or 4 transfers that look real good. What a great intense practice that is being run for an off season workout. I can see this team making some noise in class c this season.

    • P&G says:

What does making noise mean? Winning more than 5 games? Winning a sectional game?

    • Old Rugger says:

Still very much a work in progress at KC. Winter indoors is not a great way to judge. That said the Lax IQ is starting to improve and the kids are working hard and more importantly they are listening. Best of luck in the spring.

      • Todd Rd. says:

I have no doubt that Kennedy catholic will turn from a club program to a contender in a year or two. I know for a fact that that 4 kids transfered to JFK and more are coming next year.

        • P&G says:

What does transfer mean? All incoming freshman are technically “transfers”. And if you come in as a soph or higher from a public school – my understanding is you can not play for a year at a Catholic school such as Kennedy.

  8. U Dont know says:

Well once again, look likes Lew has put together a VERY competitive schedule. Not ducking anyone, as well as preparing Somers for the post season. Good job by Lew, and hope Somers folks appreciate what they have now in him and Brian Dalton.

  9. NYmike says:

Dalton is the man! Glad to see him hook up with a top program and ad value to those young men’s lacrosse talents, and . . . . hope to see him on the opposing sideline this year.

  10. Red All Over says:

Great staff now Dalton, and Lew. They both really know the game.Wish them all the luck and success. Hopefully they will bring back the title.
All though side note in everyones predictions on 2011, seem to be leaving out Bewster who returns a big number from last year. This team might make some noise!

  11. Joe Lombardi says:

We’ve revealed much info on Yorktown’s schedule the last few weeks, as it became available. Well, it’s now complete. You can check it out here:

  19. Todd Rd. says:

This year reminds me of years back in 2006 when jj had great athletes and yorktown had great lacrosse players. The tide is shifting to where Town has all the athletes playing football etc. and JJ kids are speacializing.

    • Indian J says:

Well, then that is not a good thing for Jay. Although, that core of guys were athlete/lacrosse player combos. My concern after last year is with drive , discipline, and attitude. I’m worried about the laid back everybody is wonderful approach that can rear its head in high school sports. Ground balls, not giving in to fatigue, and putting opponents away has to be their motto. If a senior is not doing it, get some of the younger talent out there. Win.

  20. Lax Novice says:

Ridgefield @ Darien is Tuesday 5/17 or Weds 5/18?

Note: The Friday night Yorktown game will be a fundraiser for a local ALS group. There is a committee working together that is made of up both Yorktown and John Jay people in hopes of making it a special event.

    • Indian J says:

I think we were actually due for two consecutive home games with Corning East coming to us, so this year would have been at home too…but there are other power houses to play so it is what it is.

      • Purple ' n ' White says:

Manhasset-JJ should be a classic. Get your tickets now. Nice to see another LI team there – Massapequa.

  26. slacrosse says:

    Joe,

Queastion: Isn’t there a 16 game regular season limit? If so Rye shows 16 games but only 1 vs Greeley and 1 vs Harrison? Doesn’t Rye have to play Greeley and Harrison twice? If so,assume it will have to drop two of their 16 games now listed to play them?

    • Joe Lombardi says:

      slacrosse –

I believe it’s because you play two of the four other league teams home and home and the other two once. In other words, not home-and-home for each league opponent.

      • slacrosse says:

Thanx Joe. If this holds probably the best combination Section 1/Non Section 1 schedule in yrs for Rye. Too bad have to wait until playoffs to meet Town.

        • Joe Lombardi says:

I agree, slacrosse. Getting both Greenwich and New Canaan on there, plus John Jay and Somers as non-league games within the section, highlights what I agree is a tremendous schedule for the Garnets.

  27. Doid23 says:

Jay’s OOC schedule is strong, but not overwhelming. Would love to have Darien and/ or Delbarton as games rather than scrimmages. I also hate to see Town/ Jay be the opener, although as openers go, it’s a winner.

Jarring not to see Town/ WM.
