Never thought I would see a Darien post that they were happy they were 8-5 with 3 to play..i guess the game is really changing?

    • laxr says:

Not for long. Darien graduates almost no one this year.

      • timeschange says:

If they end the season with 7 or 8 losses does everyone returning mean that much? Are they maybe just hitting their stride and will be very strong the rest of the year and next year. I would have to go with the latter just based on the talent that program produces.Personally I think they win Fciacs this year.looking forward to some gd lax these next 3 weeks.

        • laxr says:

I think the fact that they return so much more than they usually do cancels out the fact that the current squad is worse than usual. Darien usually replaces at least half their starting lineup, but next year they only lose 3 players of importance: Seiler (A/M), and the two SSDMs Gesualdi and Raia. Seiler is good but not good enough to leave a void, and I have to think that SSDM is easier to replace than most positions because athleticism is more common than elite skill.
