If you’ve been following our “Schedules scanner” thread, you know that when it comes to the nation’s No. 1 hotbed for lacrosse, there is no shortage of challenging schedules.

But Shoreham-Wading River has taken it one step further.

The Wildcats will get things going before the regular season starts.

Coach Tom Rotanz passed along  SWR’s preseason scrimmage schedule and it’s quite impressive.

Check it out:

3-14 at Smithtown East, 3:30 p.m.

3-17 at Bridgewater-Raritan (NJ) Four-Way Scrimmage, 9 a.m. (includes Conestoga, Pa., Skaneateles, N.Y. and the host Panthers)

3-19 at Ward Melville, 3:30 p.m.

3-21 at Smithtown West, 3:30 p.m.

3-22 at Bay Shore, 3:30 p.m.

3-24 at Darien Tournament, 9 a.m. (includes West Islip, Fairfield Prep and the host Blue Wave)

The Wildcats’ regular-season schedule is highlighted by a game at home against two-time New York State Class B finalist Garden City on April 28 at 3 p.m. It’s SWR’s Lax Out Cancer game.

“Last year, we raised $22,000 during the course of the three-hour game,” Rotanz said.

SWR opens the season March 28 at home against Hauppauge at 4:30 p.m. The Wildcats’ non-section slate also includes a May 5 game at Mountain Lakes (NJ).
