It’s been quite a 10-day span for the Arlington lacrosse program.

And the University at Albany’s.

That’s because the Admirals’ two leading players, and two of the Hudson Valley’s top juniors, have committed to stay close to home and play for coach Scott Marr’s Great Danes.

Midfielder Danny Hanson gave his verbal to the Great Danes on Sept. 22.

And earlier this week, as we reported on our “Updated recruiting review and commitment rundown,” classmate JD Colarusso committed to Albany.

Colarusso, a goaltender whose father Joe also was a goaltending standout (at Yorktown High School), is known for his quick reflexes, overall quickness and clearing ability. He was selected to the all-star game this past summer at the Maverik Showtime National Recruiting Spotlight.

Here’s a Q&A with JD on his commitment:

What were the main factors in your decision to attend Albany?
When I visited Albany, Coach Marr and the rest of the coaching staff made me feel part of the team. It’s been my dream school since I have been a little kid.

When I was younger, I always used to watch all of the Albany games and knew then I wanted to attend Albany.

What other schools were you considering and what schools did you visit?
I was considering Hofstra, Drexel, Delaware and Binghamton. I only visited Albany.

Arlington classmate Danny Hanson is also bound for Albany. Did that play a role in your decision?
It didnt play a role in my decesion but Its been a dream of ours since we were kids to play together at the college level.

What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?
Saving the ball and also clearing the ball. My style is up-tempo lacrosse which I believe is Albany’s style of play.

When did you first realize you had the potential to play at the college level?
When I made varsity as a freshman and also when I made the Maverik Showtime All-Star Game.

Is that Joe Colarusso’s kid? The same chest protectorless goalie who went Herk and HVCC? Joe is a good man, i used to party/play a bit with him at HVCC, im sure his kid can play and look foward to seeing him play at UAlbany!
