  1. West Point says:

Also today: 3 way scrimmage at West Point’s Michie stadium between Pleasantville, Warwick Valley (sec 9) and Queensbury (sec 2). Start time 3 pm.

  2. that is awesome says:

Army is playing at 12 today no? Are these guys going to get to watch the cadets do work and then scrimmage in the stadium ?

  3. SirLaxalot says:

Anyone at Darien who can give us a rundown of what’s happening there? Thanks.

  4. long time laxin says:

darien starters over swr something like 5-3. darien starters over wi 4-2. darien d looks good, offense a little rust to work off. wi looks good as usual.

  5. delax says:

Anyone out there at the garden city/smithtown west game who can provide score/update?

  6. Joe Lombardi says:

Good scrimmage between Ridgefield and Manhasset just ended with Ridgefield scoring nine goals to Manhasset’s seven.

  7. LI Lax says:

GC 6, West 2…I believe it was the final but the guy left with two minutes left. Was 2-0 West after 1, 3-2 GC at half.

  8. Trojan Horse says:

    It was a 6-2 final.

Good game for Marino in net with 10 saves. GC was down 2-0 after 1 with Kyle Keenan scoring both but obviously SW didn’t score again after that. GC went up 3-2 early in the third.

  9. LaxLI says:

    A couple more scores …

    Wantagh 11, Farmingdale 9

    Bethpage 8, Friends 7

  10. Joe Lombardi says:

More info on the Ridgefield-Manhasset scrimmage, won by Ridgefield 9-7.

It was a low-scoring first half with the Indians, who trailed 1-0 after one quarter, behind 2-1. Things opened up in the second half, with Manhasset outscoring Ridgefield 5-2 in the third quarter to go ahead 6-4. Teams mixed and matched, of course, and starters played about half the scrimmage with the goalies splitting action by half.

“It was clean, well played and could have gone either way,” Ridgefield coach Roy Colsey said.

  11. just laxin says:

Any updates on Somers, Town and LP and how they looked today?

    • HV Lax says:

Saw a bunch of the scrimmages but not all. I thought Putnam Valley looked very good considering they lost their whole defense and goaltender. One of the two scrimmages I saw Town play they rested their starters but there is a heated goaltender battle at Town as well as at LP and Somers. Overall Somers looked very cohesive when I saw them. With games going on at two fields at a time it’s hard to keep track but overall the Section 1 teams and I include Fox Lane definitely outclassed Don Bosco, Montgomery, Jericho and the non area teams from what I saw. I heard Town and LP went 4-0 and Somers 3-1.

      • D-Pac says:

Thanks for the update HV Lax. Hated to miss it. How did Guilderland look? I was at the five way at Byram Hills with Pac, Pelham, North Salem and Bronxville. No way near the competition that was at Red-Grey. Pac pretty much dominated, but hopefully the lack of playing tougher teams won’t hurt them. No offense to the teams that participated. Next up for Pac will be New Canaan. That should be a much better gauge of where the team is.

        • Lax Novice says:

When and where is that, please?

          • D-Pac says:

It is 4:30 this Tuesday. I am guessing it is at New Canaan High School. I don’t know if other teams will be attending.

        • SWLAX says:

Although Pac did look strong, I would say that the scrimmage was not indicative of ANY of the teams true ability, including Pac’s. Half field 6 v 6, which is what it ended up being due to fields being closed for whatever reason (had to use 1 field for five teams for those who were not there) is a tough way to gauge any teams ability. Facing off, riding and clearing/the transition game were all taken out of the equation yesterday at Byram and those aspects of the game are pretty important! All that being said, I would hardly call a 3-2 win over B’Ville, when both teams offenses were full strength against the others D (Pac put up a lot of goals in the five minutes that they spent man-up, not due to penalties, but set man-up time) domination.

          • Pac Lax says:

Pac Vs. New Canaan today. Should be interesting. Also a nice test vs. Rye on Thurs.

  12. slacrosse says:

How did the Pac/NC scrimmage go? Good pre-season tune-up with Pac and Rye scrimmaging on Th

    • Lax Guy says:

Pac looked good today, still some rust to work out. They got behind 2-0 but started to pull it together and it wound up 9-7 Pac. Slacrosse I agree should be good final tune-up for both squads on thursday.
      Hope the weather holds up.

      • Lax Novice says:

Any idea how it went before starters were pulled? Thanks.

        • D-Pac says:

Not sure. It was 5-2 NC at half. Not sure if they pulled starters. I am pretty sure that the starters were back at 5-5, but then Pac scored 3 more.

          • Lax Novice says:

If Joe Costigan was on the field for NC, then the starters were in. If he was wearing a hoodie, then the starters were out. Joe L. would know if he has time to find out.

  13. Jericho says:

GC was just three men down. Two GC coaches got bench penalties
