There will be several new varsity programs springing up in the Hudson Valley region this season.

We told you last month about how Carmel, which has a long tradition of athletic success at the Class A and Class AA levels, will be make its varsity debut this spring.

Ditto for Blind Brook.

And add another school to the list — Dobbs Ferry, which has one of the most tradition-rich football histories of any program in the schedule.

Will the Eagles emerge as a lacrosse power?

Could be.

But for now, they need to find a head varsity coach for this season, athletic director Jim Lindsay told me today.

Interested candidates should contact Lindsay at lindsayj@dfsd.org or 914-693-3761.

Lindsay, of course, knows a thing or two about lax. One son, Jim, is the head coach at Lakeland/Panas.  Another son, Sean, is the former Syracuse University star.
