At least that’s what coaches in Suffolk County seem to be saying about the 2011 West Islip Lions.

Though those star players have moved on to North Carolina and Towson, respectively, after leading WI to its fourth state title in five years, the Suffolk coaches seem to think the Lions are still at the top of the pack.

Chris Kieser informed me today that the Section 11 coaches met last night and West Islip is No. 1.

    It’s pretty even among 4-5 teams so I guess it makes sense to go with WI as #1 based on their body of work…

    The others coaches and LI13 can dream all they want. But again as usual it will be Ward Melville and West Islip in the finals. Maybe a different result this year.
