Earlier this month, Conor Prunty stood alone. Though he was among nine players from the Hudson Valley region named as an all-American, he was the only one who had not committed to a college. No more. In case you missed our update here earlier this week, Prunty has given a verbal commitment to attend Siena.

If you take a look at nine Hudson Valley All-America recipients, you will notice just one has not yet committed to a college. That would be Lakeland/Panas junior midfielder Conor Prunty.

Despite starting last season with little fanfare, the Lakeland/Panas Rebels were thisclose to winning the Section 1 Class A championship. A couple of big showdowns in Suffolk. Some crucial games involving teams from Westchester, Rockland and Putnam. It should be an interesting Thursday throughout the region today.

Tomorrow, Long Island will take center stage with some colossal confrontations on tap. But today, Section 1 is in the spotlight. Let’s call it Super Tuesday.
