The first team representing Puerto Rico to play in the World Lacrosse Championships has been selected, and is filled with tristate standouts.

The squad was founded last year to play in the 2018 championships in Israel. All team members either are from Puerto Rico or have a Puerto Rican member of their immediate family.

The team is also fundraising for Hurricane Maria relief for Puerto Rico, where much of the island is still without power after the Category 4 storm decimated its power grid.

Individual players are also fundraising to cover expenses to travel to the event. Visit this link to donate and enter the player’s name. (Roster below.)

The event, which will feature 50 participating countries and over 2,000 athletes, will take place next summer July 12-21 in the city of Netanya.
