Tommy Beeby

Tommy Beeby never met — or for that matter, played — a sport he didn’t like.

Basketball, football, baseball, tennis, soccer. You name it.

Did we mention lacrosse?

We should, because that’s where the John Jay HS (NY) Class of 2018 two-way midfielder’s college future is. And it will be at the University of Delaware, a decision first reported by Joe Lombardi on LaxLessons.com’s Lacrosse Insider premium coverage section.

Beeby’s commitment, made earlier this month, made him the Blue Hens’ 2018 NY/NJ/CT commit.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound rightyhas a combination of good size and skills. He has a quick first step and is adept at shooting on the run.

Recruiting abstract

Now, here’s a Q&A with Tommy on his commitment.

What were the main factors in your decision?
The outstanding academics, amazing campus, and the fantastic lacrosse atmosphere.

What other schools were you considering and what schools did you visit?
UMass, Providence, Fairfield, Bucknell, Rutgers and BU.

Have you decided what academic major you plan to pursue?
Undecided.

What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?
My dodging, shooting, and being able to create separation. I would describe my style of play as uptempo and creating opportunities in unsettled situations.

What area of your game do you need to work on?
I believe I need to work on my consistency and my off hand.

How did you get introduced to lacrosse and what other sports have you played?
I first got introduced to lacrosse by my mom when I was little. In addition to lacrosse, I’ve played basketball, football, baseball, tennis and soccer.

What travel team do you play on what showcase events did you participate in?
I play for Prime Time lacrosse and I played in maverik showtime and adrenaline black card.

Any final thoughts and people you want to thank for helping you reach this point?
I would like to thank my parents and my coaches for everything they have done for me throughout the years.
