Selection Sunday and the Ivy League championship highlight today’s schedule.
The bracket for the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Division 1 Tournament will be unveiled on an hour-long selection show at 9 p.m. on ESPNU.
Host Anish Shroff and analysts Quint Kessenich and Paul Carcaterra will provide breakdown of the field and tournament predictions, along with interviews with selected head coaches and players.
During their college careers, Kessenich (Johns Hopkins) and Carcaterra (Syracuse) both played in four NCAA Championships and each won a national title with their respective teams.
A live phone interview is planned with NCAA Committee Chairman Heather Lyke, who will discuss the bracket and the process behind each team’s berth. Live phone interviews are also planned with Denver’s Bill Tierney, and Albany’s Lyle Thompson, reigning Tewaaraton Award winner and the NCAA lacrosse all-time leading scorer.
The 16-team field, plus two play-in games (on Tuesday, May 6) draws from 10 automatic and eight at-large bids.
First-round play begins Saturday, May 9 at campus sites.
ESPNU will also be telecasting the Ivy League championship game on Sunday as 11th-ranked and fourth-seeded Yale takes on No. 15 Princeton, the No. 3 seed.
