The Full Field High School League has already had four full weeks of action at Chelsea Piers in Stamford, Conn.

There are eight teams in the league: Brien McMahon, Brunswick, Greenwich, Ridgefield and Wilton from Connecticut and Iona Prep, John Jay, Mamaroneck from neighboring Westchester County in New York.

We checked in with Chelsea Piers Operations Director Tony Vallance for his thoughts on some early standouts:

* Chris Conley, Mamaroneck HS (NY):  Attackman who is very impressive when working behind the cage at X as a quarterback and distributor to his teammates.  He’s not the biggest kid on the field but he doesn’t shy away from contact when he’s looking to finish in close or in traffic.

* Reed Malas, Mamaroneck HS (NY): Bucknell commit is a constant presence for his team as a shooter/finisher, especially in transition situations.  He uses his size well when he gets locked up down low or on the wing with his D-man.

* Matthew Lupinacci, Johy Jay HS (NY): Tall and athletic Colgate commit who runs the field well.  Showcased a nice righty shot on the run by pulling it back across his body to finish it in the opposite top corner.

* Dan Jenkins, John Jay HS (NY): Big Defenseman who is active and vocal whether on or off ball.  Ran the field well and was very comfortable with the ball in his stick on several transition chances.

* Christian McHugh, Iona Prep (NY): Good-sized midfielder who is a bit of a throwback two way player.  He was very successful taking face-offs and then was one of the Gaels’ primary initiators on the offensive.  Good North-South dodger who puts the pressure on opposing defenses with his speed and ability to shoot on the run.

* Decker Curran, Greenwich (CT): Michigan commit who is very talented all around offensive player who is comfortable at both Attack and Midfield.  Can dodge from any spot on the field, excels at the two man game and has great range and accuracy on his outside shot.

* Bailey Savio/Mike Sullivan, Greenwich (CT): Part of the 2 headed faceoff monster for Greenwich that has looked pretty hard to beat.  Both players have shown the ability to push the ball forward and create quick strike chances.
