It’s Selection Sunday in college lacrosse and it begins with the final remaining conference tournament title game to be played.
It will be Penn vs. Harvard for the Ivy League championship at noon at Harvard Stadium. ESPNU will be providing live coverage.
The bracket for the NCAA Division I Tournament will be unveiled in the hour-long 2014 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship Selection Show at 9 p.m., also on on ESPNU. Host Anish Shroff and analysts Quint Kessenich and Paul Carcaterra will provide breakdown of the field and tournament predictions.
During their college careers, Kessenich (Johns Hopkins) and Carcaterra (Syracuse) both played in four NCAA Championships and each won a national title with their respective teams.
A live phone interview is planned with NCAA Committee chairman Jim Siedliski, who will discuss the bracket and the process behind each team’s berth. Live phone interviews are also planned with several head coaches from the expected tournament field, including Charley Toomey (Loyola) and John Desko (Syracuse).
For the first time, the 16-team field features two play-in games (May 7) yielding from 10 automatic and eight at-large bids.
