If you’ve watched the first two days of action at the sixth annual Maverik Showtime National Recruiting Spotlight at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Conn., and were asked to name one player who has stood out the most, chances are you would be stomped.

It’s not that there haven’t been some stellar performances. There have. But there hasn’t been one player who has stood out above the rest.

Having said that, there have been plenty of strong showings to go around.

That means selections for the all-star games on Wednesday, July 10 should be more challenging than ever.

The 2016 all-star game (White vs. Red) is at 6:30 p.m., followed by the 2015 all-star game (White vs. Blue) 7:45 p.m.

Here are four players who made their marks today in the following designated categories. For a rundown of scores more players who stood out today, be sure to check out Lacrosse Insider.

Offense

Brian Willetts, Smithtown East (NY) – Class of 2015: Almost a year to the day, Willetts became the first tristate resident to verbally commit, when he decided on UNC. Equipped with ideal size (at close to 6-foot-4), the powerful and athletics Willetts is a triple-threat attackman who dodges, shoots well and rides.

Defense

Cameron Hyde, Lincoln-Sudbury (MA) – Class of 2015: The 6-foot-2 Johns Hopkins-bound is a strong position defender with good size and athleticism.

FOGO

Travis Ford, Webster Thomas (NY) – Class of 2016: Many of Ford’s faceoffs wins seemed effortless in what  was a dominating day in the dot.

Goaltender

Willie Klan, Webster Schroeder (NY) – Class of 2015: The Ohio State-bound Klan is vocal and athletic and aggressive in initiating transition opportunities.
