Don Bosco Prep has emerged as one of the tristate’s most dominant programs when it comes to churning out college committed players.

The New Jersey Tournament of Champion finalist Ironmen have 18 of them.

The breakdown is as follows: 14 graduated seniors, and two each from the classes of 2014 and ’15.

One of those players is Spencer Fox.

Fox has opted to join the brand-new program at Post University in Waterbury, Conn., which will be making its debut in 2014.

The 6-foot-1, 225-pound Fox is a physical defender with ideal size.

recruiting_updateNow, here’s a Q&A with Spencer on his commitment.

What were the main factors in your decision?
One of the main factors was being a part of a new program. I also believe that Post University  is a great fit for me academically. I also really liked (Post University Head) Coach (Jim) Griffin when I visited and I thought that it was a great campus and in a great area.

What other schools were you considering and what schools did you visit?
I also visited Marymount University in Arlington, Va. I also was looking at Susquehanna College, Assumption College, Lynn University and Montclair State University.

What are your strengths as a player and how would you describe your style of play?
My size and my speed. My style of play is very physical.

What area of your game do you need to work on?
Getting my stick skills better in my off hand.

How did you get introduced to lacrosse and what other sports have you played?
I was first introduced to lacrosse in second grade when I was able to play for my town and I have been playing ever since. I also play football at Don Bosco Prep.

What travel team did you play on last summer and what showcase events did you participate in?
Last summer, I played for Trilogy and we attended the Rutgers MVP tournament and the Delaware Blue Hens Shootout.
